
Dr. Ron Cava has served as Senior Minister at FBC since 2012, having previously served several North Carolina congregations through the years.
He and his wife, Shirley, are natives of Virginia but have made North Carolina their home since 1983. They have four grown children and several grandchildren.
Ron earned his undergraduate degree from Campbell University, majoring in Religion. He also holds a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He returned to the Campbell University Divinity School to earn his Doctor of Ministry.
Dr. Cava has served in various leadership roles within the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina. He provides leadership to the ecumenical efforts in downtown Henderson and throughout Vance County. He is also actively engaged in various community organizations and ministries, as well as the Ministers Community Partnership of Vance County.
Ron has a passion for Christians and the church to grow as followers of Christ and to offer an authentic and relevant testimony of God’s grace to others. He believes that every Christian should intentionally develop caring and compassionate ways of expressing their faith through their personal, recreational, and business life. This is what it means to be formed and equipped as a life-long follower of Jesus.
